Top Speed has already reported that the Essence Concept, revealed in Geneva, is a big step forward for Infiniti. The future car not only revealed the company’s upcoming design theme, but their technological advancements as well.

The concept car is powered by a 592 HP gas-electric hybrid engine. The 3.7 liter V6 engine will find its way into the upcoming redesigned M sedan due in early 2010 where the power plant where it will develop between 340-350 HP without the help of the turbochargers. Citroen’s stunning concept supercar, the GTbyCitroen, took to th­e streets of central London on Tuesday (23/06) to recreate part of the ‘st­reet circuit’ featured in Gran Turismo® – the PLAYSTATION®3 ­driving game which the GTbyCitroen was designed for.

Taking in some of the Capital’s most famous landmarks, the virtual-turned-­reality supercar swapped pixels for Piccadilly as it swept through the world fam­ous circus, toured Regent Street, rounded Trafalgar Square and cruised down the ­Mall past Buckingham Palace.

The result of a unique partnership between Citroen and Polyphony Digital In­c., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc., creators of ­the Gran Turismo game series, the GTbyCitroen concept measures nearly five ­metres long (4.96m) and just over a metre high (1.09m) with an impressive superc­ar design sporting wide air intakes, rear air-diffuser, horizontal LED headlamps­, gull wing doors and diamond-effect 21inch aluminium wheels. Inside the cabin o­ffers a refined racing experience with copper, steel and black leather finishes ­combined with hi-tech racing controls.

Designed by Roman Mistiuk, the Peugeot Metromorph Concept looks like a set piece from Minority Report or the discarded idea for a new Transformers character. That’s because the Metromorph has dual modes: One as a battery-powered electric vehicle and the other as… a balcony. Cars that climb up buildings and park themselves right outside your bay window were first seen in the sci-fi thriller Minority Report starring Tom Cruise. Designed by Harley J. Earl (Earl is credited as being the father of the concept car approach), the car had power-operated hidden headlamps, “gunsight” hood ornament, wraparound bumpers, flush door handles, and prefigured styling cues used by Buick until the 1950s.
